Abstract: Sex Master has seen many questions surface online regarding the chances of getting pregnant from a large variety of sexual activities. Usually the asker is concerned about getting pregnant. The problem with most of these questions is that getting pregnant is the least of your troubles. Getting STDs can be much worse, and in some cases lead to serious disability (Hepatitis, HBV and HAV can destroy your liver), scars (Herpes and Syphilis) or death (HIV/AIDS, HBV, HAV). The motto is: When in doubt, wear a condom!
Sex Master has seen many questions surface online regarding the chances of getting pregnant from a large variety of sexual activities.

Nevertheless, here is a list of the most common questions:
1. I had anal/oral sex. Can I get pregnant?
Short answer:
Probably not.
Long answer:
The gastric and the reproductive systems in the female body are absolutely separate. Unless some semen came in contact with your vagina, you will not get pregnant.
Longer answer:
Oral and anal sex are prone to STDs. The anus has small fissures in it most of the time (wonder why you feel that it's itchy sometimes?) and our mouths also have small fissures in them (most people bite or scratch their mouth when eating or cleaning their teeth), and therefore, any infections in the semen or vaginal fluids can find their way to a new host in oral and anal sex. One more commonly ignored factor is the pre-ejaculate that comes out of the penis when it becomes erect. The pre-ejaculate has semen in it, and can get the unsuspecting female pregnant.
2. I had sex with my clothes on and the semen was ejaculated on my undies. Can I get pregnant?
Short answer:
Yes you can.
Long answer:
Sex with undies on does not protect you from STDs or getting pregnant. Better use a condom.
Longer answer:
The semen can get through as it is released from the ejaculate fluid and deposited into fluids coming out of a well aroused vagina. It is not highly likely but is known to happen. Some people might call this the immaculate virgin conception.
3. I had sex in a bathtub/swimming pool/jacuzzi and my partner ejaculated into the water. Can I get pregnant?
Short answer:
Yes you can.
Long answer:
Sperm can live out of the body given the right temperature. Although this is safer than sex with undies, it still can happen.
Longer answer:
The temperature of the water, chemicals in the water, and the size of the body of water are crucial factors. If sperm come in contact with your vagina, you can get pregnant. Of course, it is very unlikely that sperm ejaculated into a swimming pool will come into contact with your vagina. The chemicals in the water are highly likely to kill the sperm, as soap and chlorine are very toxic to little creatures such as bacteria and sperm. Some STDs however, can survive to some extent. So why not get tested when your relationship gets to the swimming sex stage.
4. I am still a virgin, and my hymen is still intact. If semen comes in contact with my vagina, can I get pregnant?
Short answer:
Yes you can.
Long answer:
See sex with undies on.
Longer answer:
The hymen has holes in it. For example the period fluids and blood has to come through the hymen. Some women still have a large portion of their hymen intact even after giving birth.
5. I had unprotected sex during my period. Can I get pregnant?
Short answer:
Yes!
Long answer:
Semen can live in the female body for up to 72 hours (see sperm competition). By the time of the sperm’s demise you might already be pregnant!
Longer answer:
Most methods of natural biorhythm birth control have a 50% success rate at best, and zero STD protection. You should use a condom (or get tested for STDs and use other contraceptives, such as the pill).
6. I had sex with my boyfriend and he pulled out just before he orgasmed. Can I get pregnant?
Short answer:
Yes!
Long answer:
See pre-ejaculate.
Longer answer:
This is, unfortunately, a very common misunderstanding of the male penis. When the male is having sex, he might also ejaculate small amounts of semen during intercourse. Many, many pregnant women around the world will tell you that the withdrawal method does not work at all.
7. My boyfriend and I had sex over the phone/internet. Can I get pregnant?
Short answer:
No!
Long answer:
Masturbation is very safe.
Longer answer:
Masturbation is a good and safe way to practice your sexuality with or without your partner on the other side of the line.
